Unbeknownst to many, the Balkan region is something of an herb-growing paradise. With its hot, drawn-out summers, Balkan farms produce a plethora of the raw materials we use for our many blends.

What makes the Balkans so optimal for growing herbs and flowers? The answer lies in a combination of rich mountainous soil and the warm currents of the Mediterranean, Aegean and Black Seas.

Like most agricultural regions, the quality of product can vary widely in the Balkans. After many years of farm visits, experimentation, and trial and error, we’ve developed strong relationships with growers known for sustainable farming practices and food-safe supply chains.
