WHY?
Unaddressed issues specific to the tea
industry
In many cases, our deep knowledge of the tea
industry gives us specific insight into particular hazards that
may still be out of the scope of some government agencies.
Enhanced food safety standards
In
many cases, our safety standards exceed that of some regional
governments. Ie. in the case of agricultural
input residue. Metropolitan follows European agricultural
standards at a minimum - known to be some of the highest
in the world.
- Auditing by the University of Guelph’s Food Technology Centre (Canada)
- Annual inspection of tea estates by company personnel
- Annual visits to supplier factories and packing facilities
- Annual visits to port facilities
